As Tara said in an email, “We are musical siblings.“ I agree. On the rare and scattered occasions Tara and I get together we often find ourselves accessing a language from the same hidden cupboard. We explore sounding that is more equivalent to asemic writing or sound poetry. This is a dialogue of pure music. Texture, melody, tone and rhythm are building blocks to our language.

This album represents excerpts taken from a few hours of improvisation in my studio. I feel the best way to experience improvised music is in the original live moment of it happening. Much gets lost or reframed in hearing recordings of live improvising. Still, I always find moments that hold up in the captured document of the event. It is sometimes best to excerpt these moments from the session and let them have a second life. I believe this collection of snap shots is a strong representation of our work. I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.
